A Veneer is a low-impact cosmetic treatment for your teeth.  It involves created a thin moulding, that is custom-made for your tooth and bonded to the front of your tooth.  They are a quick and effective solution for stained, chipped, mis-shapened or crooked teeth.

What are the Benefits of Veneers?

If you are concerned about your appearance, a Veneer can be a perfect solution to cover mis-shaped, crooked or discoloured teeth.  As they are bonded to the front of your tooth they have the same size and can deliver a very natural appearance.  You can choose the precise shade of porcelain to match your teeth, so no-one can tell.

Porcelain Veneers are stain resistant and when well looked after, can last for many years.  They are a less intrusive way of improving the overall look of your mouth than Crowns yet offer similar natural looking results.

Are There any Reasons not to Have a Veneer?

A Veneer is a long term treatment, so once it is fitted you will not be able to have them removed, so bear this in mind.  Like any treatment when you are having something new added to your mouth, it can take a while for it to feel natural.  When you have a Veneer fitted, part of the treatment involves your dentist removing the enamel on the treated tooth, therefore you must ensure you take proper care of your teeth after this treatment.  Also, there is a chance of increased sensitivity after fitting, if this occurs, please let your dentist know.
